  • Is there an age restriction?
    Volunteers must be at least 11 years of age or older. Children ages 11 – 15 must have an adult present while volunteering. Children ages 16-17 must have parental/guardian approval on volunteer waiver form. We require at least 1 adult/chaperone per 5 minors. The adults/chaperones are required to always supervise minors.
  • Are there any dress code requirements?
    No loose or baggy clothing No dangling jewelry (charm bracelets, long necklaces or earrings) No flip-flops, sandals or slip-on shoes Closed toe shoes only No sheer or revealing clothing. No tank tops, spaghetti strap top, or strapless tops.

  • Court Ordered Volunteer-  What charges are not accepted?
    M.I. Lewis does not accept Violent Crimes.
  • Court Ordered Volunteer-  What paperwork is required?
    Original paperwork from the Court and/or Probation Officer must be provided to the Pantry Supervisor to verify charges and to make a copy to place in personnel file. Please complete the form below.
  • Court Ordered Volunteer-  Any other info needed?
    All Court-Appointed Volunteers are required to come into the office in person for a brief orientation. The orientation consists of filling out the Community Service Form, signing the M.I. Lewis Waiver, creating Sign-In Sheet, and a training on how to sign up for shifts.
  • Group Volunteers-  What if my group cannot attend our volunteer date?
    Please email the Food Pantry Supervisor as soon as possible to free those spots, so others can volunteer with us.
  • Group Volunteers-  What's needed to schedule a group volunteering opportunity?
    Complete the volunteer participation form and submit to the Food Pantry Supervisor for approval.
  • Group Volunteers-  Are there any other forms needed?
    Each person with the group needs to complete the volunteer waiver form.
  • Group Volunteers-  How many people are considered a group?
    5 or more people together are considered a group.
  • Group Volunteers-  What is the max size for groups allowed?
    At this time, there is not a maximum size of groups, but it will vary with open availability.
